As readers know, I am passionate about Art, Art Books & PhotoBooks. For the past 4 years I’ve published lists of recommended, or NoteWorthy Art Books & PhotoBooks. Over the past 50+ years I’ve amassed a terrific library of ArtBooks, and more recently, PhotoBooks. To fund this site, I’ve decided to part with some of them. I’m pleased to announce I’ve partnered with eBay seller GallerieK to facilitate these sales because my site is not set up to collect sales tax, which the law requires.
All items either come from my collection or I have personally selected them as being of special interest to my readers. Each has been archivally stored, carefully and minimally handled. I do not write in my books. Condition of each item is carefully noted in the Item Condition & Item Description in the eBay item listing. Each book will be very carefully wrapped and packed. In case you’re wondering- I bought every book I’m selling. No one gives me free books- even when I’m going to write about it!

If I were going to make a list of the essential PhotoBooks of the 21st century, Saul Leiter’s Early Color would most likely be the book I would list first. The essential Saul Leiter book, its influence is already incalculable. Collectible, Fine hardcover in Fine dust jacket, clean inside and out with no marks, besides Mr. Leiter’s signature on the title page, or damage. Small sticker residue on the rear cover. Patti Smith, A Book of Days, SIGNED 1st Edition, 1st Printing New Hardcover
I met Patti during the run of her 2016 18 Stations Photography show and wrote about the experience and the show here. A Book of Days is a PhotoBook! Each page includes a Photo Patti took in honor of an event that happened on that day, at some point in history. A unique concept marvelously executed. A Book of Days will be a NighthawkNYC NoteWorthy PhotoBook of 2022.
Patti is a big supporter of independent bookstores. This copy was signed for one here in NYC, and I happened to be in the store shortly after Patti was to sign copies so I was lucky to get it. She beautifully signed it on the title page. No other marks in this brand new copy. Signature guaranteed.
Robert Mapplethorpe The Complete Flowers 2006 TeNeues Very Good 1st Edition
SIGNED by Adam Pendleton Who Is Queen? MoMA 1st Edition 1st Printing New Hardcover
The book published to accopany Adam’s recent show of the same name mounted in MoMA’s Atrium to stunning effect. Mr. Pendleton was also featured in the just ended 2022 Whitney Biennial. I was very lucky to get this copy after Mr. Pendleton had visited MoMA and signed a few copies for them!
